SingTel and Progress Software collaborate to launch cloud infrastructure.

Telecommunications giant SingTel has teamed up with Progress Software to launch a comprehensive cloud infrastructure, the two companies announced today.

Enterprise software company Progress Software and SingTel aim to bring the infrastructure to independent software vendors (ISV), enterprises and small-to-medium businesses (SMB) they stated during a media briefing.

The collaboration will provide ISV's and SMB's with the ability to move their custom applications to the cloud, allowing swift and easy market deployment, the companies chimed.

Progress is bringing its Platform as a Service (PaaS) OpenEdge application to SingTel's large Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) stage. "This will provide application partners a singular unified platform to build and deploy applications in the cloud,' said vice president and managing director (Asia Pacific and Japan) for Progress Software Keith Budge.

With the cloud market growing exponentially, businesses are already reaping the benefits, revealed head of infocomm services for SingTel Alvin Kok.
