Even though the Internet is mission critical for businesses today due to the increased adoption of cloud and mobility, it is often treated as an afterthought.
Due to this, organisations are faced with network issues including performance and security, Amit Sinha Roy, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Tata Communications, told the audience at NetEvents Cloud Innovation Summit in Singapore."Adhoc network deployments to meet changing application needs and the growing user mobility could result in poor network performance and unnecessary cost."
To help organisations address these challenges, Tata Communications is offering IZO, a new network platform that promises performance for cloud applications and services. IZO also allows Tata Communications to provide access to a full ecosystem of network, cloud and data centre connectivity to allow its customers to build and connect their cloud their way, said Roy.
The IZO platform consists of IZO Internet WAN, IZO Private and IZO Public.
Roy explained that IZO Internet WAN provides the security, flexibility and predictability of a private network to the public Internet but with the reach of the Internet. Through partnerships with service providers around the world, IZO Internet WAN provides deterministic routing of traffic with end-to-end SLAs and business standard reporting. Organisations can thus shorten deployment times, as well as reduce their total cost of ownership by up to 30 percent, claimed Roy. He added that the service is aimed at companies that have a diverse set of geographically distributed offices across multiple locations.
IZO Private connects businesses to cloud service providers via private network connectivity. Since Tata Communications is under the AWS Direct Connect programme with Amazon Web Services and Azure ExpressRoute programme with Microsoft, IZO Private offers a one-stop-shop for end-to-end management to ensure network performance and end-user experience, said Roy. He also claimed that this offering is suited for organisations which are deploying virtualisation technology to create private or hybrid clouds, as well as cloud service providers who want to open up private access as a standard offering.
IZO Public tags and prioritises content with guaranteed performance for Tata Communications' enterprise customers. Businesses looking to deliver large volumes of content over the Internet could rely on this service to consistently deliver good user experience, claimed Roy.
