Staying one step ahead: Shinjiru interview

Shinjiru's Jeffrey Khow outlines how the company, a Microsoft CSP partner, is committed to helping customers reap greater efficiencies and productivity.

Following the appointment by Microsoft  as one of seven new cloud partners in Malaysia  as part of its Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme, dedicated web hosting provider  Shinjiru  is now looking at bringing more flexibility to local businesses to deliver enhanced operational efficiencies and productivity.

In an interview with Computerworld Malaysia, Shinjiru director Jeffrey Khow said the company has always tried to keep one step ahead of customer requirements.

"Today, we see more and more customers rapidly opting to move onto the cloud and thanks to this partnership with Microsoft Malaysia, we're able to retain our agility in supporting our customers as efficiently as ever," said Khow.

He said that although cloud hosting has been offered by many vendors for some time, Shinjiru was said to be the first local company to offer a powerful hybrid cloud solution based on Microsoft's Cloud platform and the Azure Global Cloud to the domestic market.

"Shinjiru is able to deploy a true hybrid setup architecture from its local Cloud running on Microsoft's Azure stack that can extend out to Microsoft's public Azure," said Khow. "This means that it is able to help companies ensure data sovereignty with continued compliance with Malaysia law and regulatory requirements."

"With the appointment (by Microsoft), Shinjiru will now be able to directly manage the entire Microsoft cloud customer lifecycle, using dedicated in-product tools to provision, manage and support customer subscriptions," he  added.

Anticipating needs

"Shinjiru is well known within the local ICT industry as being a trusted cloud service provider, offering solid foundations in hosting and managing solutions," said Khow. "Its cloud solutions offer secure and highly available system (99.9 percent monthly uptime SLA) provides the ideal infrastructure needed for hosting its customers."

"This is even more critical for us since our customers operate in a wide variety of markets - financial services, and even healthcare for example," he said.  "There is a strong necessity for us to be able to anticipate and adapt to changing needs as swiftly as possible so as not to disrupt productivity flow."

Under the CSP programme, Shinjiru works directly with Microsoft to provide services directly to customers, added Khow.  "We would start by provisioning Office 365 services to customers, with roadmaps to offer EMS, Azure and CRM Online in stages as well as providing direct support."
