Businesses in Asia can now enjoy the advantages of cloud computing on Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments without long-term licensing or server provisioning with Cloud Application Database service from Savvis, a cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions provider.
The database service supplies everything needed for a secure operational database or disaster recovery solution. It scales performance levels according to the company's need, without interrupting operations and software licensing expenses.
Mark Smith, Asia managing director at Savvis, said: "Businesses can scale the database service up or down for as short or long a term as needed, giving them the agility they need and expect from a cloud-driven database solution."
Complementing Savvis' cloud solutions portfolio and the company's commitment to global expansion, the Cloud Application Database service is now available in Europe, North America and Asia (through one of Savvis' data centres in Singapore).
For the underlying technology when using this service, users can choose either Oracle Enterprise 11G RAC or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.
