Rackspace helps boost Hong Kong eyewear retailer's sales during last holiday season

SmartBuyGlasses leveraged Rackspace's managed cloud and Fanatical Support service to do so.

Managed cloud provider Rackspace Hosting announced that it has helped SmartBuyGlasses — an online eyewear retailer in Hong Kong — to double its sales during last year's holiday season.

According to Tony Zhuang, co-founder of SmartBuyGlasses, Rackspace enabled his company to quickly scale its infrastructure during last Christmas to "meet the high customer demand while maintaining top performance with high levels of uptime." "With Rackspace's managed cloud and Fanatical Support service in place, we achieved our business goal to double sales during the 2013 holiday season," he added.

 SmartBuyGlasses has been using Rackspace's managed cloud since 2008 to support its multiple websites across more than 30 countries. By doing so, the e-retailer is able to fully focus on its core eyewear business instead of allocating internal resources to manage its websites.

Encouraged by the reliability of Rackspace, SmartBuyGlasses recently began using servers hosted in Rackspace's global data centres to be in closer proximity to customers. This also enables the retailer to decrease latency and deliver high speed access to its websites at all times.
