Communications integrator, Orange Business Services, has launched its Business Together-as-a-Service (BTaaS for this article) product in Australia as part of a global expansion.
The Unified Communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) solution, launched approximately two weeks ago in the US, is a Cloud service for large enterprises comprised of UC and collaboration tools, promising 'anytime, anywhere' access.
According to Orange, BTaaS benefits businesses due to its global pricing model; predictable costs are available to customers regardless of location. In addition, buying 'as a service' "means company pay only for the applications employees use on a pay-as-you-go basis and do not have to invest upfront in technology, resulting in lower Capex".
Orange also said the solution is built with an easy-to-use management portal that enables customers' IT managers to select from six pre-set profiles. These are made up of different sets of communication and collaboration tools to match employee requirements. The number of user account can be scale up or down as required, and set-up of new user profiles can be completed in a few clicks.
"Globalisation, widely-dispersed teams, increased consumerisation of business IT, and greater mobility are all converging, making the 'new workspace' essential for multinational companies," Orange Australia managing director, Gordon Makryllos, said.
"Employees in Australia need productivity tools that make it faster and easier to get things done. BTaaS enables them to have boundary-less access to those tools, which helps achieve the desired work-life balance and mobility that is expected from today's workforce, particularly by Gen-Y talent."
Science-based technology enterprise, 3M, is an Orange BTaaS customer and uses the product to cater for its 20,000 employees at 75 sites in 25 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
3M chief information officer (CIO), Ernie Park, said the BTaaS product provides 3M with an agile and future-proof UC solution.
"This Cloud-based solution is simple to implement and manage on a global basis, minimises costs without any up-front investment, and provides 3M the necessary scalability that allows us to adjust our IT services to reflect our business needs in a fast-changing economic environment," he said.
