The Tampa, Florida-based software company appoints head to lead Asia operations.

A new software company has decided to expand its operations in Asia by opening an office in Singapore, appointing a regional head and announcing its latest cloud offering.

Tampa, Florida-based Numara Software, which specialises in  IT operations management solutions, has named Atul Sinha to lead the Asia operations. The company, which made the announcement from its Asia Pacific head office in Australia, has also launched a regional website - www.numarasoftware.asia.

The company said the Asia region is important in its growth strategy.

"As one of the few markets in the world that showed resiliency through the global economic crisis, we see the Asia, and in-fact entire Asia-Pacific region, as a large growth area for Numara," said Geoff Masters, vice president, AP. "By strategically expanding our global operations, we are setting the foundation for Numara to be a leader in this significant economic market."

Partner network

To carry on its expansion plans, it will build on its existing partner network in the region, located in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and India with expansion planned for Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand and other regional markets.

"The Asia market and our customers and partners are extremely important to Numara and a regional presence will ensure that we have the best engagement platform in place to support the growing base of customers and partners," said Sinha, who has over 25 years of experience in the industry.

Ken Sng, founder and managing director, Inoks, Numara Value Added Partner said, "We have been a partner of Numara in the region for over six years and their announcement of Atul Sinha's appointment and solid cloud strategy are indicative of the potential we see in the region".

Sng added that Numara's latest cloud offering to be made available in the region - the Cloud mobile device management (MDM) -- "will provide customers more choice in how they adopt and expand the use of IT operations management solutions." .

Cloud offerings

With the regional announcement, Numara also announced some of its latest Cloud family of products, including the Numara Cloud MDM solution and the Numara Cloud, a cloud-based IT operations management (ITOM) solutions business.

Aside from the MDM solution, the other products included in Numara's comprehensive and integrated family of products include the Numara Cloud Service Manager, Numara Cloud Service Lifecycle Manager, and Numara Cloud Endpoint Lifecycle Manager. Numara said its cloud family of products "is the only on-demand, integrated set of IT Service Lifecycle, Endpoint Lifecycle, and Mobile Device Management solutions supporting physical, virtual and mobile devices."

The company said mobile device solution addresses some of the IT issues, particularly security, related to the proliferation of mobile devices in the workplace.
