Myanmar Oriental Bank taps on VMware to support growing number of SME customers

Myanmar Oriental Bank (MOB) has teamed up with VMware - a cloud infrastructure and business mobility provider - to better support its growing number of small and medium enterprise (SME) customers.

MOB's employees across its network of 37 branch offices manage large amounts of data from customer information and financial records to provide financial intermediation for SMEs. As such, the bank needed to better manage the rising volumes of data in a cost-effective and efficient way.

In line, MOB has put its core banking system on VMware's virtualised infrastructure. The bank deployed full stack of software-defined data centre (SDDC) solutions - namely vCloud Suite which includes VMware NSX and Virtual SAN - to improve the organisation's agility, flexibility, security, and scalability thus impacting its overall efficiency.

Additionally, MOB has also leverage VMware NSX's microsegmentation capabilities to strengthen the security of customers' data.
