Microsoft unveils Azure ML: machine learning for Cloud

Brian Karlovsky | June 18, 2014
Microsoft has paved the way for machine learning to drastically reduce wait times in emergency rooms, predict disease outbreaks and even predict crime with the launch Azure ML.

Another is OSISoft, which is working with Carnegie Mellon University on real time fault detection and the diagnosis of energy output variations across campus buildings.

Sirosh said the release of the Azure ML public preview would begin the company's journey to deliver machine learning with all the benefits of cloud computing for every organisation.

"Azure ML is helping us realise that vision and, together with Microsoft's data platform, customers will be able to create entirely new solutions that bring together big data insights, the Internet of things and predictive analytics," he said.
