Security technologies firm McAfee has partnered with local distributor EGuardian to offer cloud-based IT security solutions to Malaysian and Southeast Asian enterprises and SMBs.
"By partnering with EGuardian for this region, it is our objective to make our security solutions accessible to companies in the fast growing economies across Southeast Asia," said McAfee vice president for South Asia, Wahab Yusoff.
"With the quickly changing threat landscape, we are confident that this partnership will deliver best-in-breed technology combined with local market understanding and on-the-ground support, offering effective and efficient security protection solutions," said Yusoff, adding that Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) would be offered to customers in Malaysian, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
"The threat landscape is increasing in severity and nearly 72 percent of data breaches were at companies with less than 100 employees. And the trend of targeting SMBs is ever increasing, a major concern for a region where this sector is paramount for economic growth and employment," he said.
"Therefore, the big challenge facing fast-developing organisations in Southeast Asia is to ensure secure business operations, reduction of upfront costs, simplified deployment as well as management and maintenance. Offering Security-as-a-Service addresses the urgent demands of organisations for security offerings which can be easily deployed with a measurable return on investment while minimising system migration impact," said Yusoff.
"With the current paradigm shift in cloud technology and SaaS adoption, we believe that such an offering will offer tremendous value to both our partners and joint clients," said EGuardian chief executive officer, Kaiyang Cai.
