Macquarie Telecom will host local Cloud services for Marketo as part of the marketing software provider's local growth strategy.
The Californian based company will host its customer engagement platform and real time personalisation solution at Macquarie Telecom's Tier 3 facility in Sydney.
Marketo managing director Australia New Zealand (ANZ), Aden Forrest, told ARN that the decision to have local hosting was driven by new privacy regulations, but also in part by customer feedback.
"From a security and performance perspective, offshore hosting is fine. However, our customer base was asking when we were going to invest locally in a datacentre. Our customer base was highlighting that local datacentre investment would be a good thing for them and a good thing for us. We listened to our customers."
Forrest said the ANZ market was key to the firm's global growth strategy and that it was not just investing in infrastructure, but also in personnel and local partners.
"Growth has been significant not only from customer numbers but from a team point of view. We are trying to get our breadth and depth supported through our partner network."
"We now have three different partner types: services partners, agency partners that leverage Marketo as part of their overall solution and an independent software vendor (ISV) base that is reflected through 'launch point', our exchange of applications that extend the Marketo platform."
He said in the short term the firm wanted to build on the partner platform it has and longer term it wants to extend that more readily across the Asia Pacific region.
"We have a dedicated team that are focused on ensuring Marketo becomes not only a relevant solution that the channel can optimise, but also a destination that organisations want to be part of to really grow a market we have initiated."
"Marketing automation is a very hot area of the market, people have spent the last decade putting CRM solutions in place, now they need to do something with the richness of data they have acquired. Marketing automation is really the intersection of all that information," he said.
"The platform is only ever as good as the partners that deliver, not only the platform itself, but the training and consulting to our end customer base. We look forward to growing an expansive partner base here in Australia also in the wider region."
