National ICT agency MDeC (Multimedia Development Corporation) has formed a partnership with CloudFX Group to launch MalaysiaOneCloud, an eco-system among the country's ISVs and data centre providers to help drive IT adoption across all business sectors.
MDeC's chief operating officer Ng Wan Peng said the eco-system will include best of the class local and global cloud-based software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).
"Under the MSC [multimedia supercorridor] Malaysia Cloud Initiative, MDEC works and collaborate with strategic industry partners to enable and drive the cloud computing ecosystem," said Ng. "MDeC is proud to foster this collaboration with CloudFX, which will drive better adoption, integration and accelerate market growth of cloud SaaS solutions from local cloud SaaS providers."
"This collaboration will aggregate cloud computing offerings from all ISVs [independent software vendors] and existing technology partners into a unified brokerage platform and cloud marketplace, and also provide regional and global cloud marketplace presence for ISVs, which will translate into higher sales potential and opportunity," he said.
Damian Crotty, Cloud FX Group founder and chief executive officer, said: "We've built CloudSelect from the ground up to meet the needs of both enterprise cloud customers and cloud service providers (CSPs), enabling them to successfully accelerate cloud adoption and transformation, as well as to differentiate and deliver value added services."
"With its integrated cloud services automated and services management capabilities, our cloud procurement and management solution is already helping many Enterprises and Cloud Service Providers around the globe achieve success with their cloud offerings" said Crotty.
"The MalaysiaOneCloud is the first platform in the Region which brings together the benefits of traditional IT management - operational excellence, service automation and service delivery models - merged with the dynamic potential of Malaysian based cloud architectures and application services", directly to Malaysian customers," he added.
Crotty said MalaysiaOneCloud will initially offer more than 50 world class, fully automated cloud services and then scale to more than 300 service offerings within the first 12 months helping customers to consume "Anything as a Service" - including underlying IT infrastructure, application development platforms and fully configured Malaysian business software applications.
He said that CloudFX will build and operate the CloudSelect platform as well as provide value-added services based on compliance, configuration, performance monitoring, capacity management, security and availability, full stack provisioning and change management "to ensure the most demanding Malaysian enterprise ICT and Cloud services requirements are met."
Launched 2009, CloudFX Group, which offers design and implementation of IT virtualisation and cloud projects across Asia Pacific and Japan, has partnered with ICT companies such as Cisco, VMware, EMC, NetApp, Intel, CSC and VCE.
