Fujitsu has unveiled three cloud offerings in Singapore: Fujitsu Global Platform, Fujitsu SAP IaaS, Fujitsu Cloud Professional Services.

The Information and communications technology- based business solutions provider said that it developed these offerings with Fujitsu's customers after evaluating and understanding of the challenges and opportunities they face.

The company notes that organisations in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) can now turn to Fujitsu to begin using cloud computing technologies.

Through its collaborative approach, Fujitsu ensures that its customers are able to deliver the specific outcomes they need from their cloud programme.

Fujitsu is already popular in ASEAN as it is helping businesses in this region by delivering its most complete range of cloud-based services.

"We have committed US$40 million in Singapore to develop our cloud capabilities here. We strongly believe that cloud computing is not a "one size fits all" approach," said Wong Heng Chew, president of Fujitsu Singapore. "In launching these offerings for the Singapore market, we based it upon our experience working with customers to determine the most optimal cloud solutions tailored to their business and technology requirements, emphasising on delivering practical solutions rather than embarking on theoretical solutions."

Cloud offerings

Fujitsu's first release, Fujitsu Global Platform is the company's global standard for infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). Hosted in Singapore, Japan, Australia, the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom, Fujitsu Global Platform combines the scale of public cloud and enterprise grade security and customisation of private cloud.

Fujitsu's SAP IaaS has been developed specifically for the SAP environment with an aim to offer cost effective SAP infrastructure services for SAP users. Fujitsu's Cloud Professional Services help organisations harness the cloud with an individual roadmap to cloud adoption.

Fujitsu notes a couple of happy customers such as the National Institute of Education (NIE) and SingPost. The company has collaborated with these two customers to address their specific needs and drive measurable benefits from cloud computing.

"At SingPost, security of our users' data and information remains our utmost priority," said Lee Cheng Chin, vice president of information systems, SingPost. "While many vendors may provide security measures, Fujitsu emphasises on working closely with us to deploy a comprehensive standard package of security measures built on Fujitsu SAP IaaS that is exclusive and specific to SingPost which ensures the integrity and safety of our data."

"We needed significant ICT infrastructure support for our ongoing research projects and the flexibility of Fujitsu's deployment and open infrastructure component has empowered us to deploy our resources more efficiently and scale our research projects more effectively as well," said Tan Hoon Chiang, chief information officer, NIE.

"Another testament to our partnership was how Fujitsu went beyond accessing our current technological needs to recommend and strategically counsel on a deployment that will help support future expansion plans."
