Forum: SingTel ICT helps CIOs become business leaders

Participants at SingTel's CIO Day in Shanghai, China, discuss why prioritisation and planning of technology projects require collaborations between CIOs, internal users and vendor professionals.

In the new era of IT innovation, market success depends upon customer relationships more than ever before. "Truly great companies have to continuously focus on customer experience and innovate," said Peter High.

"Success no longer depends just on product and price. If you differentiate the product, it's easy for others to copy. If you compete on price, competitors will undercut each other. The winning strategy depends on customer experience. IT people must continually keep customers at the forefront of the organisation. Successful companies that prioritised customers experience include Taobao, Tencent, Netflix, Zappos.com and Amazon."

The inaugural Shanghai CIO Day demonstrated SingTel's tangible commitment towards partnering enterprises' expansion in China. This commitment is undergirded by its five delivery centres and offices in China. The event also informed Chinese enterprises of SingTel's capability, in particular its deep expertise, wide network and infrastructure, in support- ing their expansion into the Asia Pacific region. More than 30 ICT solutions were showcased at the one-day event, which attracted more than 300 business leaders.
