BrightHost is leveraging Platform Equinix to support the expansion of its managed private cloud solutions to Hong Kong.

BrightHost is a supplier of high-capacity cloud infrastructure and Web hosting solutions and Equinix is a provider of global data centre services.

Equinix notes that BrightHost has deployed its cloud offering within Equinix's Hong Kong (HK1) International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre.

The deployment enables BrightHost to address the requirements of its blue-chip customers for a presence in Asia.

World-class cloud site

Commenting on the alliance, Michael Richardson, manager at BrightHost, said the company aimed to activate a world-class cloud site within two months and Equinix has been a key partner in helping it meet its commercial, technical and customer service requirements.

"The nature of our solutions require a highly available and scalable environment, using best-of-breed performance and security to deliver a premium service experience to our customers in the retail and financial services industries," said Richardson.

"Equinix offers solutions that optimise our service performance, delivery costs and the end-user experience, putting us in the best position to support our customers across the region. Equinix's expertise in cloud services makes our new market entry and expansion a lot easier."

"We serve over 240 cloud and 400 IT service providers globally and fully understand the needs of cloud services. We are thrilled to have BrightHost join our growing cloud ecosystem. We provide the combination of scalability, performance, proximity to end-users and access to potential customers, which will benefit BrightHost in its expansion," added Andy Lee, business development director for cloud, IT & enterprise, Equinix Asia Pacific.
