Many Australian companies continue to underutilise Cloud computing and Unified Communication (UC) technologies, according to NSC Group executive chairman and founder, Craig Neil.
He was speaking at the launch of the NSC Group's 2013 Business Collaboration Summit.
Neil claimed Aussie businesses need to better incorporate Cloud computing and UC technologies into their businesses if they are to retain customer and employee loyalty.
"Cloud technologies have been a game changer for the UC sector, and the channels with which businesses can connect with customers has grown significantly as a result," he said.
"Unfortunately, many Australian companies are yet to fully understand the true benefits which a greater understanding and utilisation of the Cloud can provide."
Neil claimed there is a huge opportunity for local companies to maximise the latest Cloud and UC advancements to quickly improve their customer contact strategies. He also highlighted the need for companies to have the right technologies and infrastructures to communicate with customers and increase collaboration amongst employees, or be quickly left behind.
"While in the past these processes may have been expensive to set up, businesses can now implement these in a cost effective manner with minimal difficulty," Neil said. "And with customers getting used to more instantaneous and ongoing interactions with businesses, The bar has been raised for employee and customer expectations, and businesses who don't match these will be quickly left behind."
