For example, developers have created a tool dubbed Scratchpad that allows customers to save flight searches to a digital scrapbook that is available across multiple devices. Pricing is constantly updated to ensure information is relevant to users.
Eastaugh says: "We don't know how that is going to work, we have some 'test and learns' that we are running, it seems to be going quite well and our customers are enjoying working with it.
She adds that Expedia's technology platform has also benefited from the numerous companies it has acquired in recent years - notably the $3.9 billion (£4.8bn) buyout of Airbnb competitor, HomeAway.
"We don't just acquire random companies," she says. "A part of their technology stack is what you are buying. So you are not going in there saying 'right that is it we will move it off'. There's definitely been amazing technology from every single brand that we have purchased, stuff where we have said: 'You are doing that so much better'."
