China Construction Bank secures its next-generation data centres with Juniper Networks

The SRX5800 will enable the bank to securely scale its data centres and deliver online customer services in the cloud.

China Construction Bank (CCB) has deployed Juniper Networks' SRX5800 Services Gateway at its three next-generation data centres as part of its cloud migration journey.

According to Juniper Networks, the deployment of the SRX5800 security platform will enable CCB to achieve near linear scalability of up to 300 Gigabits per second of firewall throughput. This scalability enables CCB to reduce the number of firewalls deployed in its data centres, thus simplifying the network while reducing space and power requirements.

Besides that, the SRX5800 will also allow CCB to scale its security in line with its growth and deliver new online customer services in a cloud environment.

"We are very confident that the new generation of devices we've deployed will stand up to the ever increasing demands we place upon them," said Xi Mingliang, director, of Security Operation and Maintenance at China Construction Bank. "Going forward, we plan to migrate data center operations to a cloud computing architecture and we can already see how Juniper's advanced  physical and virtual firewall architecture will be of great benefit."

This is not CCB's first time working with Juniper Networks. According to Juniper Networks' media statement, the company has been supplying firewalls to CCB since 2005, and its products make up about 70 percent of the firewalls deployed within the bank's data centres.
