The CenturyLink Private Cloud is now globally available for customers who require the agility of a public cloud, but with the physical isolation, dedicated hardware and security standards many large enterprises require.
A press statement by the Monroe, Louisiana-based telecommunications company said each private cloud instance is federated into the CenturyLink Cloud network of public cloud nodes.
It said this gives users a single interface for creating and maintaining a hybrid environment that spans both public and private clouds.
It claimed that the end result is greater agility for businesses across a broader range of workloads.
The press statement said enterprises can deploy a private cloud in any of CenturyLink's 57 data centres in 34 cities worldwide.
CenturyLink is the third largest telecommunications company in the United States and forms part of the list of the Fortune 500 largest companies in America.
