Here's some good news for Android users who like to read.

Google has announced that Google Play has started offering e-books for people in Singapore. Besides the local content, Books on Google Play has millions of titles, from new releases to bestsellers and classics.

According to a media statement, Singaporean books such as Riot Green from Candid Creation and Conversations with Lee Kuan Yew from Marshall Cavendish are now available on the Google platform.

Google Play Books allows readers to read on the device of their choice. Since the books are in the cloud, one can read them on the web, a phone, or a tablet and pick up right where one left off.

Books can be purchased in the Google Play Store and one can begin reading them instantly in the Google Play Books app. The books can be read even on iPhones and iPads using the Google Play Books app.
