The Barracuda NG version 5.4.3 now supports Microsoft deployments in the areas of Windows Remote Desktop Services, virtualization and public cloud, according to a press statement by the Campbell, California-based provider of cloud connected and storage solutions.
The press statement by Barracuda Network said some of the capabilities of the latest version of its NG Firewall include the following:
- Full user awareness for Windows Remote Desktop Services
- Support for Hyper-Virtualization
- Extended Support for Microsoft Azure Cloud
The press statement said the latest version of Barracuda NG Firewall has a small lightweight transparent client simplifying integration and not relying on external authentication protocols.
Likewise, in addition to VMware, the Barracuda NG Virtual appliances can now be deployed on Microsoft Hyper-V servers.
At the same time, the latest version of the Barracuda Vx now supports next-generation firewalling capabilities and high speed secure site-to-site secure remote access from on-premises networks to Microsoft Azure or Vnets within Microsoft Azure.
"High speed" was defined as speeds of over 1 Gbps.
The press statement said the latest version helps enable users to transition to newer topologies proposed in the Microsoft ecosystem.
