Security and storage solutions firm Barracuda has announced the integration of its first eSignature application, SignNow, into its business workflow platform called MobileIron AppConnect.

Malaysia-based Barracuda regional manager, Thiban Darmalingam, said, "The integration allows employees to manage document workflows efficiently by simplifying document signing to reduce process inefficiency and operating costs."

Darmalingam said SignNow, which was recently acquired by Barracuda to strengthen its cloud data storage, has so far resulted in more than three million documents being digitally certified and signed, and  is used by more than 100,000 small businesses and half of the Fortune 500 companies worldwide.

"These businesses use SignNow to sign documents, collect signatures and automate business workflows digitally by replacing manual workflows with streamlined mobile methodologies," he said.

"Organisations often find themselves tied to old methods for managing document flow," said Darmalingam. "With SignNow integrated into MobileIron, this process seamlessly replaces inefficient processes while providing the security and policy management required by businesses today while ensuring their employees are not bogged down by paperwork."

"The MobileIron AppConnect technology is used by third-party mobile app developers," he said. "These apps allow companies to give their employees the best third-party application experiences with apps that have been enabled with auto-configuration, data containerisation and secure tunneling to protect corporate data."

MobileIron vice president strategy, Ojas Rege, said, "We are pleased to work with Barracuda to bring the first mobile signing application into the AppConnect ecosystem. As mobile becomes the primary computing platform for the enterprise, tools like SignNow are essential for employees to be able to complete transactions on a mobile device."
