Solution to reside in network operator’s cloud.

Alcatel-Lucent is set to introduce the latest addition to its network  functions virtualization (NFV) portfolio, the Motive Security Guardian.

A press statement by the Paris-based vendor of telecommunications equipment described the addition as a virtualized security solution that protects from malware service providers' networks, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and mobile and home devices.

The solution resides on a network operator's cloud network and can identify and pinpoint malware on mobile or home devices without having to be installed on them.

As such, it immediately alerts owners of devices when malware is found on a device, giving them step-by-step instructions on how to remove the threat.

CloudBand 2.0 NPV

The  solution can be onboarded and managed using Alcatel-Lucent's CloudBand 2.0 NPV platform and be rapidly scaled up or down to meet market demand, according to the press statement.

It said the Motive Security Guardian will be pre-integrated with the Motive Customer Experience Management portfolio, a portfolio specialised  to automate care, service, network and IT operations with data analysis.
