Seagate Technology now offers users of its Wireless Plus storage devices the option to save content and files to their drives wirelessly by way of an updated Media App.
A press statement by the Cupertino, California-based vendor of data storage solutions said the updated app also enables users to migrate their files to cloud storage service providers such as Dropbox and Google Drive.
In doing so, the updated app's capabilities enable users to expand beyond the limited storage capacities of their mobile devices, such as tablets and smart phones, according to the press statement.
It added that the updated apps's new capability to sync users' files with existing cloud storage providers means their files will always be accessible even if they lack network access at a particular moment.
It said the Seagate Media app is for Apple iOS, Android, Kindle Fire HD and Windows 8 tablets.
On the other hand, its Seagate Wireless Plus mobile storage devices come in capacities of 1TB and 2TB versions.
