Huawei enhances storage portfolio

Also, launches latest cloud data centre solutions at GITEX 2012.

Huawei has announced the availability of its enhanced Storage System portfolio to support 4TB storage disks and launched latest cloud data centre solutions at GITEX 2012.

The new storage system portfolio enhancement delivers customers with advanced storage solutions that provide increased capacity for improved competitiveness.

Huawei has also converged SAN and NAS storage protocols in its T Series portfolio, which results in simplified storage architecture and reduced network deployment complexity.

"With its large capacity and low power consumption, the 4TB hard disks position Huawei's innovative Universal Distributed Storage system as an ideal EB-level storage solution for enterprise organisations," said Fan Ruiqi, president of Huawei's Storage Product Line. "The advanced distributed architecture and object storage technology also allow the smooth expansion of the system to 300PB, ensuring it is able to meet the evolving storage needs of enterprises."

Huawei's storage portfolio enhancement was developed in close collaboration with industry partner, Seagate.

Launches CloudEngine series switch in Middle East

Huawei also announced the launch of its CloudEngine series switch in the Middle East and showcased its comprehensive capabilities in enterprise networking at GITEX.

GITEX presented a platform for Huawei to showcase its latest products and solutions, and the company hosted and participated in a range of activities during the event.

Huawei shared insights into developments in the latest technology and business trends for the industry, unveiled its latest cloud data centre solutions, and introduced its benefits and advantages to global enterprises.

The company specifically focused on how different applications in cloud computing can be employed across a range of industry scenarios.

"GITEX presents a platform for Huawei to showcase our latest products and solutions, as well as share best practices with customers from different countries around the world," said Dong Wu, vice president of Huawei Enterprise Middle East. "We will be hosting, in addition to participating at, a variety of activities during the show to further cement relationships with our partners and customers."
