ViewQwest offers the fastest residential Internet connectivity in Singapore, according to the company.

ViewQwest, Singapore's boutique Internet Service Provider, announced today the commercial availability of 2Gbps fibre broadband in Singapore, which was previously only available in Japan.

This new fibre broadband offering is also dubbed as the "fastest residential Internet connectivity in Singapore", according to the company.

A trial of the 2Gbps fibre broadband implementation was held from November 2014 with a select group of 50 customers. Based on the trial feedback, ViewQwest developed a methodology to provision the 2Gbps fiber broadband service to customers with different setups, enabling customers to plug-and-play their routers and devices without needing to worry about configurations.

"Consumers are increasingly using their home networks for higher bandwidth activities - from downloading large files to streaming TV shows to even running their own businesses from home," said Vignesa Moorthy, CEO, ViewQwest. "[This] plug-and-play methodology enables ViewQwest to scale their limited trials to being able to offer 2Gbps to all consumers in Singapore."

The new ViewQwest 2Gbps Fibernet broadband bundle is available in single network (S$89.95 per month) and multi-network (S$99.95 per month) options.

The single network bundle is the default package, and is suited for households that have multiple devices with high bandwidth usage. The latter bundle allows users to setup two networks within their household. Each network will not interfere with the other, giving users greater network security and stability.

The bundles include ViewQwest's Freedom VPN, which allows consumers to access geo-restricted international streaming sites such as Netflix, Hulu, PPTV, Viki, BBC iPlayer, ITV and Tonton.

Also included in the bundles are free gifts such as ViewQwest TV, an Android-based media player that connects the TV to the Internet; as well as add-ons like OneVoice, a residential fixed line that provides free unlimited incoming and outgoing local calls.

All existing 1Gbps ViewQwest subscribers can re-contract for free to either of these 2Gbps plans. Keen customers can sign up for all ViewQwest plans via its website, the ViewQwest experiential booth at Sim Lim Square Level 1 and ViewQwest authorised resellers.
