How active is A10 Networks in this region and how is the networking solutions provider helping companies in IPv4 preservation and IPv4-IPv6 migration? Its President, CEO and VP of South APAC, Hayato Koeda, explains.
We have not heard much about A10 Networks in this part of the world. Can you tell us a little about your company?
A10 Networks was founded in 2004 with a mission to provide innovative networking and security solutions. A10 Networks makes high-performance products that help organisations accelerate, optimise and secure their applications.
Our flagship A10 Thunder and AX Series Application Delivery Controllers are deployed by over 3,000 customers worldwide. The core technology of A10 is its proprietary operating system called ACOS (Advanced Core Operating System) that has scalable multi-core, 64-bit, shared-memory parallelism architecture.
A10 was named one of the fastest growing private companies in North America by the Deloitte Fast 500 and Inc. 500. Headquartered in San Jose, CA, A10 has offices in over 22 countries, over 580 employees and is profitable with a track record of consistent quarterly revenue growth.
How much have you been active in the Asia Pacific region and how is your business growing here?
Our business in the region is experiencing significant growth. We have grown our revenues four-fold in the last two years in South East Asia. Japan has grown even more and has contributed significantly to our worldwide revenue. In Japan, our revenue increased 10 times over the last three years and we were able to take the No.1 market share this year.
We are continuing to expand our resources in the AP region in order to meet and exceed customer demand. We have a local office in Singapore and have local sales resources in Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, India and Australia, and continue to expand our business in Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Myanmar through our distributers. A10's growth and momentum can be attributed to our innovative approach to application delivery solutions and focus on execution and customer service.
What kind of opportunities do you see in the market for growth?
There are a lot of opportunities for SLB/ADCs (Server Load Balancing/Application Delivery Controllers) in the telecommunication, technology, government, and education and finance industries. Recently, we have seen customers demand more features in our products. One example is "Subscriber Awareness". In this feature, we work together with external servers and dynamically build up the database internally with user information. We take action based not only the IP packet, but internal DB information as well for our subscribers. We have also seen IPv4 preservation and IPv4-IPv6 migration opportunities in the telecommunications industry. All our application modules are included without licences so that customers can use any application anytime without additional licence costs. A10's all-inclusive licensing model makes network deployment affordable for our customers.
