Orange Business Services is now pilot-testing a 100% digital and automated software defined network (SDN) solution for small and medium businesses (SMBs).
A press statement by the B2B arm of the Paris-based Orange SA said the solution will begin pilot-testing this April and will involve 10 SMBs that each have up to 10 sites.
The testing done under real conditions, the pilot of this 100% digital plug-and-play offering will be done for a year and the feedback will be leveraged to adjust the positioning and functionalities of the solution slated to launch commercially this 2016.
The pilot-testing will involve each of the 10 SMBs creating and managing in real-time their Intranet and Internet networks by way of a Web portal.
Through this interface, network managers will also be able to order new and virtualized applications of their choice with regard to Internet content filtering, advanced security and antivirus.
The press statement said Orange has deployed in its business dedicated network an SDN controller and virtualized services project which forms part of the vendor's larger program ," SDN for Business" strategy.
