Axell Wireless— the worldwide provider of wireless public safety and cellular coverage solutions — today announced that it has provided the necessary equipment to ensure that Singapore's public safety network supported Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA).
With the new system, Singapore will have a flexible and future-proof network that can be enhanced as required, according to Axell's media statement.
For in-building coverage and selected outdoor areas of Singapore, Axell supplied a network of digital channel selective off-air systems.
Train stations on the other hand were fitted with Fibre Distributed Antenna System (DAS) solutions. Since a number of train stations in Singapore have a limited amount of existing fibre, Axell's engineering experts had to enable a fibre optimisation strategy to ensure public safety coverage without the need for further fibre deployment.
The entire public safety network is monitored via Axell Element Manager, a remote monitoring system. According to Axell, the monitoring system allows the support teams to manage equipments from multiple sites, as well as closely monitor the network to identify the need for changes as and when they arise, thus keeping them in full control at all times.
