Saleduck expands to Malaysia

Saleduck is also set to launch in five more countries in the South East Asia region this year.

Saleduck - an Amsterdam-based startup offering online coupon and deals platform - has opened an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In 2015, Saleduck expanded its business to eight European countries. It plans to launch in five more countries in South East Asia region this year. "With a total market size of US$770 billion dollars, the Asian e-commerce market is by far the biggest in the world. Also, the market's growth rate of 44 percent is a lot higher than other continents. Therefore, it was an easy decision to expand our business to Asia," said CEO Domingo Karsten.

The Kuala Lumpur office - Saleduck Asia - will be supervised by CTO Ben Rogmans and Commercials Manager Rosanne Hortensius from the Amsterdam office. The company will start to hire 12 employees locally, consisting of marketing professionals and web developers.

The Saleduck platform is currently available in Malaysia and Singapore, where it collaborates with e-commerce companies like Lazada, Zalora, and Foodpanda.

Meanwhile, the company said it is open for strategic investments to accelerate its growth. The planned investment is more than RM2,233 million  (500,000 euros).
