MOLGlobal company MOLPay has announced it is the first payment gateway to provide support for third-party mobile development tools in Southeast Asia's market.
MOLPay's chief executive officer Eng Sheng Guan said this new scenario has been made possible with the release of Mobile XDK, a cross-platform payment kit that integrates with major mobile development tools.
Eng said MOLPay appreciates that developing mobile applications is rapidly growing industry, citing 2016 research, which noted an increasing number of individuals, corporations, and other entities are engaged in mobile application development.
He said different versions of mobile payment gateway were hampered by the demands of different mobile device platforms. This often forced a developer to limit the development of a mobile application to a subset of mobile device platforms, thereby limiting the number of potential payment gateways to integrate with.
"Should the developer wish to expand the number of mobile platforms on which a mobile application may be used, the developer may need to expend additional resources to create new versions for the additional mobile platforms," said Eng.
"Supporting multiple versions, each released for a separate mobile platform, adds cost, stress and delay to the software support lifecycle," he added.
Benefits for developers and businesses
"Also, the ability to create and support different versions of a payment gateway for different mobile platforms puts additional demands on a developer to stay current on differing implementation details for the various mobile platforms," said Eng.
"Faced with this variety of platform-specific implementation details, a developer may inadvertently introduce bugs into the mobile applications," he said.
When asked how MOLPay Mobile XDK would benefit mobile developers, Eng said Mobile XDX was available on all major development tools with publicly accessible libraries and repositories together with an easy integration process, which has just a five-step installation procedure and a two-day turnaround time.
He said the new move will also bring the following benefits to businesses:
- Provide optimised mobile experience to shoppers
- It has a flexible and customisable user interface
- Cash channel payment made easy
-Support escrow payment
-Support card channel sales campaign
- Support credit card pre-authentication payment.
