In a statement issued to the press on Tuesday (January 22, 2013), Singapore-based infocommunications technology (ICT) service provider, NCS, announced that it had won yet another award, this time for excellence in media communications, as defined by the organisers of the Summit International Awards (SIA). NCS and Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) had been conferred in December the Visionary Winner Award by the SIA in the Navigation Application category of the 2012 Summit Emerging Media Awards (EMA), for their work in developing the mobile app extension of MyTransport.SG, a portal hosting information and e-services for land transport users in the republic.
According to executives at NCS, this latest international honour came following a series of other wins in recent months. NCS had earlier taken a 2012 Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award (also handed out by the SIA) for its part in rolling out the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) NS Portal's Fitness Challenge 2 campaign. It had also just taken "the Bronze Award at the 2012 iNOVA Award for MINDEF's Youngstas Microsite revampe, and the Silver Award at the 2012 W3 Awards, also for LTA's MyTransport.SG mobile app," the statement today said.
Commenting on the series of awards NCS had won as 2012 drew to a close, NCS Vice President Rachel Goh reiterated her company's approach to ensuring the success of projects it works on with customers in the public sector.
"The awards submitted by NCS are part of its service commitment to its government customers. Apart from designing and developing portals and applications, we also lead and drive marketing and engagement initiatives on behalf of our clients. Such initiatives and effective collaborations with partners are core to our service offerings," Goh said. "The awards we have won affirm our vision and capability in delivering creative user engagement initiatives and we look forward to delivering more exciting initiatives that will benefit our users."
