SINGAPORE, JUNE 8, 2011—Tickled Media, the Singapore-based online publishing house behind Asia’s leading parenting website, theAsianparent.com, has been appointed the official Southeast Asia and India representative for LiveJournal.com, purportedly the world’s first blogging and social media platform.
According to a press release issued today by SUP Media—the Moscow- and San Francisco-based company that owns LiveJournal.com—Tickled Media “will create local country homepages for LiveJournal” in their covered geographies, see to providing Asian bloggers on the platform with “rich user experience,” and serve as a media sales outlet in each of the local markets.
SUP Media CEO Annelies Van Den Belt expects the strategic partnership to figure significantly in LiveJournal.com’s business moving forward. “Social media in Asia is experiencing tremendous growth and LiveJournal sees it as its next big market,” she said. “Partnering with Tickled Media with their local online expertise and strong advertiser relationships offers LiveJournal the ideal platform to expand our presence and have a competitive edge in the region.”

• LiveJournal sees more than a million unique visitors every month coming from Singapore.
• LiveJournal is Singapore’s largest female online portal, where discussions and activity revolves around issues such as “health, parenting, beauty, fashion and lifestyle.”
• Singapore is “by audience” the platform’s fifth largest market.
• “Sophisticated” users in Singapore are notable for wheeling and dealing via the "Spree and Flea social shopping communities” on the platform for bulk purchases and used goods, respectively.
