An e-commerce website for electronics components has recently been redesigned to help customers find products quickly through improved search functions and by providing more product information.
element14, the operating business of Premier Farnell plc in Asia Pacific, said its redesigned website has been optimised for improved searches and incorporates social media functions, such as sharing.
The improved search capabilities allow the e-commerce site visitors, mostly engineers, to set search preferences, such as minimum and maximum range sectors.
The website showcases some of the company's top products and solutions, training modules and articles relevant to the products. The website also features an online catalogue, dubbed as 'element14 Features' (http://sg.element14.com/features), with product pages that provide more detailed information, along with videos about the products.
Further information on legislation, environment, and compliance can also be found in one section.
element14 said the redesign is based on feedback from customers, including partner suppliers.
"element14 has come a long way since our rebranding and we are encouraged by the support and feedback we have received from both our partner suppliers and customers," said Devashish Saxena, senior vice president, regional marketing director, Asia Pacific, element14. "The past year has shown that our core offerings, such as best-in-class selections of products and unique service propositions, are the roadmap to success. We will continue to strengthen these propositions as we move into 2012."
The e-commerce website was redesigned to support the electronic design engineering and maintenance, repair and operations industry in the region.
The elements14 website enhancements were driven by the company's Global eCommerce and Social Marketing team based in Singapore.
The online commerce operations are further backed by element14's warehouses in Singapore, China, India and Australia, which can store about 400,000 SKUs. The company said this inventory provides customers with one of the widest selections of high performance components from leading brands. "These warehouses have also incorporated advanced supply chain facilities and procedures to ensure customers enjoy fast deliveries," the company said.
