Adele's record label backs out of Apple Music free trial

Oscar Raymundo | June 19, 2015
When it launches this month, Apple Music is promising three months of free, unlimited, on-demand music streaming without having to listen to ads, but for Adele fans this is simply too good to be true.

"Apple is sitting there with this massive pile of cash and saying to us, 'You help us start a new business.' Well, I just don't think it is going to happen on these terms," added Heath.

XL Recordings artists Adele and Radiohead are currently on Spotify because the service pays the record label even from free tier streams. However, Radiohead singer Thom Yorke pulled a Taylor Swift in 2013 and removed his solo stuff from the service. Yorke has since become a vocal opponent of streaming, calling it "the last desperate fart of a dying corpse."
