New line of surveillance cameras is for vital infrastructure and environments.

Panasonic Corporation has launched its True 4K security cameras, a new line of high performance security surveillance cameras for vital infrastructure and environments.

A press statement by the Osaka-based electronics vendor said the new line consists of the following security surveillance camera models: True 4K outdoor vandal dome (WV-SFV7 81L) and outdoor vandal fixed (SPV781L).

Optical Zoom Lenses

It said these cameras are equipped with 6X optical zoom lenses with true 4K resolutions capable of 17 to 100 degrees fields of view. Hence, they can provide surveillance in environments needing cameras with ultra  high resolution, low light capabilities and wide-angled  surveillance, some examples being ports, warehouses, energy plants, shopping malls, car parks banks and other commercial buildings.

According to Panasonic Systems Network Co.'s  global marketing group general manager,  security systems  business division, Kazunori  Kamijo, the cameras' wide angle surveillance capabilities  could lower by half the number of high definition and surveillance cameras needed to secure a particular area.

The press statement said the new camera models would be available globally starting this May.
