The new Tseung Kwan O Data Centre, the second one from SingTel, will add to the telco's plans to better serve the Greater China region.

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) is expanding its data hosting capabilities in Hong Kong with the launch of the SingTel EXPAN Tseung Kwan O Data Centre at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park in Sai Kung. With the commissioning of this new centre, SingTel's EXPAN data centre footprint will grow to 14 in the Asia Pacific region.

The new centre complements SingTel's existing data centre in Shatin and will cater to the increasing needs from enterprises in the Greater China region.

According to Goh Boon Huat, vice president, Business Products at SingTel Group Enterprise, the new data centre will offer enterprises in the Greater China region a secure, world-class co-location data hosting facility.

Designed to meet the Uptime Institute Tier 3 certification, the Tseung Kwan O data centre is equipped with features that enable enterprises to achieve high service level availability. These include redundant capacity components, independent power distribution paths for servers and IT equipment.

The Tseung Kwan O Data Centre is supported by SingTel's fibre and cable networks. Enterprises can also leverage SingTel's comprehensive suite of managed services to enable their IT operations such as managed network solutions, unified communications, video solutions, security solutions, and systems integration.
