Schneider Electric recently launched a new energy-saving solution that is particularly geared to address some challenges faced by small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Singapore.
The energy management company launched its InfraStruxure for Small IT Spaces, which addresses one of the chief concerns among SMBs - the lack of space to house the appropriate IT infrastructure. Schneider Electric said the new solution can fit small spaces, such as a server room, network closet or non-dedicated space, thus, optimising space by as much as 30 percent.
The solution also addresses other concerns of SMBs, such as cost. Schneider Electric said the InfraStructure solution can reduce total cost of ownership by as much as 20 percent while reducing energy consumption by around the same rate. The benefits can be attained because the InfraStruxure solution can leverage virtualisation and consolidation opportunities, and by reducing the downtime and extending the lifetime of the equipment.
But more than simply confining energy solutions to a tight space, the Schneider Electric solution was built to adapt to the requirements of its target market. The solution is customisable and simple to deploy.
"SMBs across Singapore all have one key thing on their minds - cost-savings. As they battle the daily rigours of capturing growth opportunities, they want to be assured that their IT infrastructure is supporting them robustly and not weighing them down with high costs and complexities. InfraStruxure for Small IT Spaces offers SMBs exactly that - the peace of mind to concentrate on their business," said Benedict Soh, vice president, Schneider Electric IT Business, Singapore.
Customers can also benefit from improved IT infrastructure management as the InfraStruxure can be integrated with uninterruptible power supply, racks and cooling units from Schneider Electric. With this arrangement, customers can benefit with single vendor accountability for installation and management.
To help SMBs deploy the solution, Schneider Electric is providing its channel partners with a user-friendly design tool -- called the Small IT Solution Designer -- that can help customise the solutions for SMBs.
