Dimension Data and NTT Singapore roped in to upgrade the bank’s IT infrastructure

Maybank Singapore has signed a S$55 million IT contract with Dimension Data Singapore and NTT Singapore, the Singapore bank announced today.

The contract is to upgrade the bank's IT infrastructure to improve service reliability (more reliable 24x7 customer service), customer user experience and ensure that it is well-positioned to capitalise on future growth opportunities, the bank said in a statement.

"This investment will see the bank's current infrastructure transformed into a world-class IT operation with more reliable, 24x7 banking service for our customers," said Lim Kuo Siong, Maybank Singapore's Head of Information Technology and Virtual Banking.

According to Lim, Maybank needed an advanced data centre and IT operations to ensure that it could be closely aligned to the business vision and growth, and support the bank's operations.

"By harnessing the latest technological advances, we can increase our network's effectiveness and ensure maximum system uptime so that our customers can conduct their banking transactions seamlessly and securely at any time, and anywhere in the world. This will also bring about cost and operational efficiencies through infrastructure virtualisation and consolidation," he said.
