Malaysia based carrier-neutral regional data centre services provider AIMS Group has reinforced its presence in Kuala Lumpur by renaming its Kuala Lumpur 18-storey headquarters, formerly known as Aik Hua building, to 'Menara AIMS', and has also announced a second quarter 11 percent revenue growth for this year.
Chiew Kok Hin, AIMS Group's chief executive officer said the company has spent 14 of its 20-year history in the building. "Our message [with renaming the building] is simple - AIMS will be in this business for a very long time. We are part of the fabric of this vibrant, world-class city, and AIMS' is in the heart of KL. We're not going anywhere."
"Menara AIMS with 37,500 square feet of fully commissioned data centre space and another 10,000 square feet work in progress, is minutes away from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers," he said. "An additional 13,000 square feet is available in Cyberjaya plus points of presence in Penang, Johor and Kota Kinabalu."

Chiew also recently announced that the Group's 2014 second quarter earnings grew 11 percent from RM14.3 million [US$4.41 million] in 2013 to RM15.97 million [US$4.92] in 2014.
"AIMS' market share and revenue growth has been steady and the high capital and operating costs of the data centre business that has severely challenged other local players are under control," he said. "AIMS currently enjoys a market share of 14 percent, a rate that is 'steadily increasing' each year."
Chiew said the company's client portfolio ranged from large local corporations and multinationals across industries as diverse as aviation, hotel, telecommunication, financial services, online businesses, oil and gas, retail and content providers.
"We plan to further expand into financial services, oil and gas, manufacturing and logistics. Bank Negara's recent guidelines for financial institutions will also help drive our disaster recovery and business continuity planning services to hopefully become significant contributors to our growth in the years ahead," he said
"As a carrier-neutral data centre, AIMS is home to all domestic telecommunication providers, as well as more than 80 percent of international service providers," said Chiew. "AIMS is also the reference site for the Malaysian Internet Exchange (MyIX) at Menara AIMS."
