US-based modular data centre IO has named Adil Attlassy as senior vice president, to accelerate global data centre 2.0 growth.
The former Digital Realty Trust manager has a repertoire of data centre experience across the Asia Pacific region, including a total of US$300 million in capital expenditures in Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne.
George Slessman, chief executive and product architect of IO, said Attlassy has the calibre to maximise IO's potential. "In a region that accepts only state-of-the-art technology and holds the future for every major multinational, we are glad to have Adil on our team," he said.
Reporting directly to Bill Slessman, chief technology officer, Attlassy will oversee IO's global data centre 2.0 strategy and operations.
Possessing the verve to be part of the new Data Center 2.0, Attlassy expressed how joining IO was an easy decision. "The Data Center 1.0, a construction model, is broken. IO has figured out how to fix it and I wanted to be part of the shift change," he said.
IO technology has been adopted by most users of data centres to enable big data analytics, cloud computing, cyber security, open source and mobility.
