Data centres are reaching an unsustainable point with the average enterprise expected to see data grow more than 800 per cent in the next five years, according to Gartner.
This immense growth in the production and storage of data is driving the next generation of data centre which will allow businesses to manage new applications such as big data and analytics, while using delivery models such as Cloud and virtualised infrastructure.
HP has moved to take advantage of the trend with the launch of its new converged storage systems, which were unveiled at HP's premier client event in Barcelona.
HP South Pacific general manager, Steve Kelly, said the next generation of CIOs and CTOs would be at the centre of their organisation's business strategy and would be relied upon to drive growth, accelerate innovation and manage risk.
"HP ConvergedSystem and HP Converged Storage offerings enable our customers to use technology to deliver business outcomes that drive their success, by creating an agile pool of resources that can deploy quickly, accelerate results and transform an organisation's most valuable asset--its data--into actionable competitive insight," he said.
"The new HP ConvergedSystem products delivers a product that simplifies IT, enabling clients to go from order to operations in as few as 20 days."
According to a company statement it has quick deployment, intuitive management and system-level support, allowing IT organisations shift their focus from systems integration to delivering the applications that power their business.
HP also is introducing new solutions that provide a simple, fast way to deliver and manage data.
These include HP Converged Storage which significantly reduces the cost of flash-optimised application performance to generate faster business returns, and simplify application mobility from public to private Clouds to deliver secure service levels.
HP ConvergedSystem for Virtualisation and HP ConvergedSystem for Hosted Desktops are currently available worldwide.
The company's network channel partners will be the primary channel for selling the new products, according to a company statement.
Pricing for HP ConvergedSystem for Virtualisation and HP ConvergedSystem 100 for Hosted Desktops starts at AUD$159,000 (inc. GST).
ConvergedSystem for Vertica is planned to be available in the second quarter of HP's 2014 fiscal year.
