Fujitsu Singapore has been appointed by solar energy solutions provider, REC Solar ASA (REC), to manage its IT infrastructure operations at REC's data centre in Singapore, the IT-based business solutions company announced today (8 July, 2014).
Headquartered in Singapore, REC's data centre supports offices in Singapore, India, Japan, Norway, USA and Germany.
This five-year agreement plan is aimed at enhancing business-IT alignment, improving IT resource utilisation, and IT management as REC's business continues to grow, the company said in a media statement.
"As REC continues to evolve and grow, we were looking for a partner with experience and strong managed services capabilities," said Martin Cooper, Interim Chief Executive Officer, REC Solar ASA. "Fujitsu not only met these requirements, it proposed a compelling solution that met our current requirements while taking into consideration our future needs. The level of responsiveness from the team also convinced us that Fujitsu is the ideal IT partner to collaborate with, and we look forward to the collaboration in the next five years."
"Fujitsu Singapore prides itself as a company that works in close collaboration with customers to ensure their business operations and technology strategies support their changing business needs," said Wong Heng Chew, Country President, Fujitsu Singapore.
"Organisations like REC are setting up headquarters in Singapore due to its robust business environment as well as strong IT and telecommunications infrastructure. With global expertise for managing IT infrastructure and data centre environments, Fujitsu has a depth of experience responding to the individual needs of businesses. This partnership with REC shows that we are well-positioned to support regional work with Singapore as the hub," he added.
