The contracts cover managed data centre capacity, IT network storage and telecommunication systems.

Serco has won IT infrastructure service contracts worth a total of £3.3 million from the European Banking Authority (EBA) in London, and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) in Frankfurt.

The European Banking Authority tendered for services on behalf of both bodies. The contracts cover managed data centre capacity, IT network storage and server capacity, telecommunication systems, internet systems, remote access solution, and projects in the IT infrastructure area.

Under a framework agreement, Serco is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, support and operation of the EBA's and EIOPA's IT systems "throughout the full system life cycle in a redundant and managed off-site data centre", said the EBA.

Some of the work is likely to sub-contracted by Serco, said the EBA.
