SINGAPORE, 23 MAY 2011 – Energy management specialist, Schneider Electric launched on 20 May 2011 a Singapore Web-hosted service called Remote Energy Monitoring (REM), which monitors and reports energy usage of a company’s building, plant or facility through a browser.
REM reportedly provides information down to specific devices, department and time, and through this companies can view usual energy patterns indicated on the report, and consequently take measures to limit energy usage.
According to a statement by Schneider Electric, the typical monthly subscription for the REM service costs less than five per cent of companies’ monthly utilities bills, and companies can save up to 30 per cent of monthly energy bills with energy efficiency measures.
"With the ubiquitous Web browser that permeates across desktop computers, laptops, smartphones and outdoor terminals, this service has become a high-availability management tool for any user with an eye on energy efficiency,” said Dr. Koh Liang Mong, EE consultant of Schneider Electric Singapore.
“We look forward to fine-tuning this service to make it even more compelling in technical features, and more approachable in usability, to benefit clients and future clients alike," Dr. Koh added.
