Oracle Fusion Middleware has been chosen to enable Emerson Network Power's Trellis platform for Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).
Emerson Network Power is a business of Emerson and specialises in maximising availability, capacity, and efficiency of critical infrastructure. Its Trellis platform boasts real-time event analysis capabilities across all physical and logical systems in the data centre.
Oracle adds that Trellis can deliver insight and control to data centre professionals, and also enable smarter, faster decisions that have the potential to maximise data centre availability, efficiency, and capacity.
Emerson Network Power has chosen Oracle Fusion Middleware to provide a common language enabling seamless communication between the multiple applications managed by the Trellis platform.
"Data centre operators must manage information needs that can change in an instant, but they're often not able to predict how real-time changes to IT equipment might impact supporting infrastructure," said Steve Hassell, president of Emerson Network Power's Avocent business.
"We're changing that with the Trellis platform by combining management of IT and infrastructure into a single, coordinated view. Our selection of Oracle Fusion Middleware is a big step in our efforts to make data centre management more streamlined and efficient for our customers."
For this project, Oracle Fusion Middleware will also provide the necessary scalability to handle the huge amounts of data that has to be consolidated and analysed for the Trellis platform.
Emerson Network Power has decided to make available the Trellis platform in early 2012.
This offering feature a combination of Emerson Network Power's expertise in data centre systems, software, and services with Oracle Application Integration Architecture and components.
