Global wholesale data centre provider Digital Realty Trust recently inked a Turn-Key Datacentre lease deal with Adobe Systems for its 29A International Business Park data centre in the Jurong district in Singapore.

This agreement provides Adobe with world-class data centre infrastructure to support its mission critical computing systems.

Digital Realty Trust is allowing Adobe to address increased demand for its software-as-a-service solutions in the region from key verticals.

"Choosing Digital Realty Trust is aligned with our strategy of partnering with leading companies that help us best meet our customers' needs," said Brandon Pulsipher, vice president of network operations, Omniture Business Unit, Adobe. "Adobe is firmly committed to expanding and providing improved services to our Asia Pacific customers. In addition to Singapore, Adobe is actively exploring other markets and we expect to deliver additional Asia Pacific service locations in the future."

Digital Realty Trust has also totalled about US$42.9 million of annualised GAAP rental revenue, including US$1.5 million of colocation revenue during the second quarter of 2011, which ended 30 June.

The company said its signed leases totalled about 289,000 sq ft (26,848 sq m) consisting of more than 205,000 sq ft (19,045 sq m) of Turn-Key Datacenter space leased at an average annual GAAP rental rate of about US$193.00 per sq ft, and about 84,000 sq ft (7803 sq m) of non-technical space leased at an average annual GAAP rental rate of about US$20.00 per sq ft.

Supporting infrastructure

Digital Realty Trust provides flexible, state-of-the-art environments through its customer-driven data centre solutions.

These environments support mission critical infrastructure and are located in 28 markets throughout North America, Europe and Singapore. The company claims that each of its Turn-Key Datacenters ensures the highest levels of reliability and is scalable from hundreds of kilowatts of IT load to megawatts of IT load.

"In our strongest performance since the third quarter of 2008, we saw very good demand from customers for our Turn-Key Datacenter solution in all three international regions," said Michael F. Foust, chief executive officer of Digital Realty Trust. "In the U.S., we signed leases totalling over 116,000 sq ft [10,776 sq m] of Turn-Key Datacenter space at an average annual GAAP rental rate of about US$176.00 per sq ft. In Europe, we signed leases totalling nearly 9,000 sq ft [836 sq m] of Turn-Key Datacenter space at an average annual GAAP rental rate of approximately US$270.00 per sq ft."

"We are particularly pleased with the pace of activity at our new Jurong data centre facility in Singapore, where we signed leases for Turn-Key Datacenter space totalling over 80,000 sq ft [7,432 sq m] at an average annual GAAP rental rate of approximately US$210.00 per sq ft."
