The second concern for CIOs is to articulate and define the problem from internal perspective. Every vendor would press the need for change management, energy management to the IT team of the organisation. Some senior stakeholder has to seek answers like - i wish I knew when we run out of capacity or I wish I knew where core assets are or how to negotiate with one server vendor better because the other vendor's servers are more efficient. If one could actually articulate the exact problem to be solved that lays a strong foundation for a long term datacenter stratgey. Than CIO following the course just because some analyst reports said so or some peer CIO is implementing DCIM.
