CIO Summit Singapore 2014: Bigger, better, more impactful

Nurdianah Md Nur and Zafirah Salim | Aug. 25, 2014
This year's edition of the show saw the congregation of almost 400 of the country's leading ICT figures.

Whether the benefits of IoT will outweigh the concerns surrounding it was the bone of contention at the great debate. The affirmative team was made up of Lee Siew Kit, Vice President of IT Services at SATS Ltd, and Richard Jones, IT Operations Director for Asia Pacific at Jones Lang LaSalle. Leong Mun Kew, Deputy Director of the Institute of Systems Science at the National University of Singapore, and CIO Asia Editor TC Seow were on the negative team. When asked about their stand on the topic, 97 percent of the delegates supported the motion prior to the debate. The percentage however decreased by 38 percent after listening to the debaters' views, and thus the negative team was crowned the winner of the debate.
