The collaboration will provide participating data centres with enhanced security, connectivity and reliability for their content and apps.

Singapore data centre operator 1-Net is expanding its network in Asia by collaborating with data centre providers CyberCSF in Indonesia, TCC Technology (TCCT) in Thailand, and PCCW, the international operating division of Hong Kong telco HKT.

According to a joint press release dated 19 November 2014, the collaboration will allow partners to connect to participating data centres through a "Data Centre Corridor." This will enable partners to easily access domestic and international markets more rapidly, thus improving customers' network experience at a lower latency and cost. Furthermore, the move allows them to cache high demand applications and content on their networks to enhance security, connectivity and reliability.

"Global data center traffic growth will be almost tripled by 2018, and the introduction of the data center corridor will be the key catalyst for this growth," said Wong Ka Vin, managing director of 1-Net. "With this new initiative, businesses can now focus on what's important, knowing that their back-end IT is taken care of."
